Wake Up! is live!

October 26, 2021 by Lindsay Teague Moreno Leave a Comment

Today is the day my friends.

Birthing day.

I’ve been in labor for an entire 2 years and today is the day you get to see my baby and hold her in your hands. Because this baby is for you.

Wake Up is for you and was written with a deep desire to move you, to shake you awake if that’s what’s needed. I know the impact this book has the potential to make is going to be worth the work it took to get it on the shelves.

Not by accident, yesterday I happened to find a video of my daughter talking about me working. She was 5 at the time, (she’s turning 13 in a month). In the video, I asked her, “what does mommy do for work?” and she said, “something that takes a lot of time and you can’t play right now.”

I knew where she got that quote. “I can’t right now, mommy has got to work.” And I did. And it was hard to explain to her why. And I knew she didn’t understand at that time. She couldn’t comprehend what the sacrifice might mean. She didn’t see what I could see for us if I just had the chance to try really hard. She could only grasp that I wasn’t there to play with her.

I broke down into full-blown tears the night she said that and I never watched that video again, until yesterday when I saw it for the second time. All those same feelings punched me between the eyes. I cried again because she said it so honestly and innocently. She wasn’t trying to hurt me just like I wasn’t trying to hurt her.

That night, 8 years ago, while I was laying in bed, I prayed that one day my daughter would know that the sacrifices we were all making were worth it — that our time apart so that I could work, would mean something.

And tomorrow, everything I’ve learned about living a life of meaning shows up in the pages of that book.

This book was worth the sacrifice and she is getting a first-hand look at what pushing through fear looks and feels like. She’s watching me love others in the way that I do, through words. She’s watching me give up what I want now for what I want long-term. She’s watching me believe in something with my whole heart.

That’s worth the work.

And so are you. Grab Wake Up and put in the work.

Let’s do it together.

Wake Up! pre-order bonuses are live!

September 23, 2021 by Lindsay Teague Moreno Leave a Comment

We’re 31 days out from the release of my new book, Wake Up!, and I’m so excited I might pee my pants.

The pre-order bonuses just went up and they are so, so, so good!

PRE-ORDER + BONUSES!

I’m also nervous about this launch because this book wasn’t part of the plan. It wasn’t even on the long-term life plan. I actively didn’t want to write the book that is coming out in October with my name on the cover.

I had a plan to write a book on sales from a brand new perspective. I had a plan to continue down the business path because it’s what I know and I’m skilled in that area. I had a plan to feed your business so that you could, in turn, use that income to feed your family, your dreams, and the people you connect with.

Instead, I found myself trashing the content and the research for the book that was to be called “A Faster Yes” and began the process of writing without a plan. I started thinking about you and what you might need the most right now. I began thinking about my friends and family and what they might need the most coming out of last year.

And along the way, I found Wake Up — or it found me.

It’s the culmination of what I’ve learned in my life through childhood perceptions, really good teachers, hard knocks, research, terrible choices, ego, abuse, shame, bravery, boldness, heartache, pain, pleasure, self-righteousness, stubbornness, experiences, failure, and success.

I thrashed as I wrote this book.

I felt like a fish out of water. I wrote and erased full chapters over and over. I wrote enough content for four books (word count was next level) and then saved only the best words to make just one powerful, vulnerable, truth-telling, and challenging book about whole-life fulfillment.

This book will force you out of the slumber most of us float through our whole lives in. We go to work, raise our kids, go out with girlfriends, approach our finances, ride our peloton bikes, and go to church asleep.

But what would happen if you were more aware in each of these areas? What if we noticed? What if we paid attention? What if we decided to say no to the easy button that our culture is selling us everywhere we turn?

You’ll find out on Oct 26.

Wake Up is available (on sale) for preorder now. And with your order, you’re going to get some cool bonuses like a print by Brad Vetter (seriously!), a #WakeUp100 tracker, and the first third of the book to read right now!

PRE-ORDER + BONUSES!

The only thing you have to lose is sleep.

How To Create An Action Plan For Your Goals

April 26, 2018 by Lindsay Teague Moreno Leave a Comment

It’s time to create an action plan for your goals. By now you should have one SMART goal ready to go, but what do you do next?

If you haven’t read my post on setting SMART goals yet, go do that now.

Before we start I want to say, don’t be intimidated if your goal seems like a giant, unattainable task. That’s normal!

Setting goals can feel overwhelming and I think that’s why people who aren’t intentional about action plans don’t achieve theirs.

Not you though. You’re going to learn how to crush your goals!

To make it easier and more achievable, we’re going to break it down and tackle it a little bit at a time.

Let’s take a look at how to create an action plan for your goals:

  1. Write your major goal down in a notebook or my favorite Productivity Pad. You can also use an app like Wunderlist if you prefer digital.
  2. Give yourself a deadline on when the goal needs to be completed by.
  3. Break down the smaller parts of the goal. What needs to happen to achieve it? For example, if you want to write 6 blog posts in May you’ll need to jot down ideas, research the subject, write the copy, edit the copy, make graphics or take photographs, finalize and schedule the posts.
  4. Schedule each task depending on your timeline. What must you do today, tomorrow, and the next day to meet your deadline?
  5. Choose your most important tasks and do them before anything else. Don’t check your phone or your email or Facebook until you finish these.
  6. Check off your smaller tasks and watch them add up to achieving your big goal!

If you do this every time, goal setting should feel easier and more rewarding. You will achieve more goals if you write them down, make an action plan, and refer to it often.

This only works if you do! You have to keep it in front of you every day and work your small tasks in priority.

Once you master this, you’ll be on your way to being a goal crushing machine!
