How 1 Simple Decision Can Change Your Life

February 26, 2018 by Lindsay Teague Moreno 2 Comments

“You’re always one decision away from a totally different life.” -Mark Batterson

If you don’t like how things are going for you right now, you need to make a decision and then take action.

It doesn’t matter what’s happened in your past.

It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve failed.

Or started over.

Or tried again.

It doesn’t matter how many times you wanted to quit.

At any moment you can decide to make a change.

The path you are on right now does not have to be the path you stay on forever.

And don’t think it needs to be a big, huge decision either.

Don’t let yourself get caught up in making this harder than it has to be.

A little step forward is just that.

Little actions add up to big achievements.

Today you can make the decision to:

  • Read a book instead of zoning out in front of the TV.
  • Start learning that new skill you’ve been meaning to get to.
  • Get back on your exercise plan.
  • Write down your goals and give them life.
  • Be more loving to the important people in your life.
  • Make an extra move in your business.

Get out there and make your one decision today and put into action.

XO,

My #1 Tip For Weekly Productivity

February 15, 2018 by Lindsay Teague Moreno 4 Comments

Last year I made a weekly productivity pad to help me stay on track with my goals and never ending to-do list.

I tweaked it throughout the year and built it around what worked best for me, but also what I thought momtrepreneurs were needing in their business.

Enter the Business Owners Weekly Productivity Pad!

I partnered with With A Twist Boutique to have it printed in a pad and it turned out so good. We’ve already sold through a couple of runs and they just got another printing in.

You need this in your life. Besides the fact that it’s just cute and so fun to look at. Hello rainbow happiness!

It’s the one planner-type thing that I’ve been able to use consistently and see results from.

Ok, let’s go through the sections:

BLUE:

After you write the date take a minute to jot down how you want to make people feel this week.

I find this really important to do first and set the tone for what kind of value I’m going to provide.

Some things I’ve written down are:

  • “I want to make women feel capable.”
  • “I am going to make other moms feel worthy.”

Next you will choose the three most important things that you need to do this week.

Three might not seem like a lot, but trust me on this. If you try and do more you’re going to get overwhelmed.

GREEN:

This section is all about your must-do action plan.

You can see that it nests under your three must-do list items.

Underneath each one you will write all the actions you need to do in order to get that big important to-do finished.

As you go through the week you can fill in the bubble to show you’ve completed a task.

For example if you one of your to-do list items is: “launch website” you would write down tasks like “buy domain, create brand sheet, etc.”

LIME:

You might be tempted to skip this, but don’t.

Write down your affirming statement and look at it often. Say it out loud. Let it guide you through the week.

Some examples:

  • “I am a capable, smart, and kind person.”
  • “I have the ability to handle whatever comes my way.”
  • “I am energetic and enthusiastic. Confidence is in my nature.”

YELLOW:

In this section there are 5 spots to write down your current gratitude list.

Do it all at once or write them throughout the week. It’s up to you.

I have found so much improvement in acknowledging and writing down my gratitudes regularly.

This is a must-do!

ORANGE:

Pick a quote that will help guide you this week and write it down.

Here are a few that I love:

  • “The most effective way to do it, is to do it.”
  • “Are you trying to help, or are you trying to sell?”
  • “A failure is an event, never a person.”

RED:

The weekly norm tracker section is where you keep track of all the normal things you need to do.

Think of these as smaller goals. Habits you are working on that will make your week great, but don’t necessarily fit in the big section above.

Write them down along with the benefit you’ll have from doing them all week.

Fill in the bubbles as you go along to keep yourself accountable.

Some stuff I’ve had on mine recently:

  • Get in bed before 11pm. Benefit: Easier to wake up.
  • Post on social media 2x. Benefit: Consistency.

PINK:

Set a goal for how many notes and thoughtful gifts you want to send out to your customers this week.

Use the bubbles to track how many you’ve gotten done.

PURPLE:

At the end of the week you will fill out this section.

Make some notes about next week – things you need to do, what you want to improve, etc.

Write down a failure you had as well as the lesson you learned from it.

BOOM!

5 Goals I Want To Accomplish In 2018

January 5, 2018 by Lindsay Teague Moreno 7 Comments

Okay. Let’s talk goals.

I don’t make resolutions but I do set goals. It’s the only way I keep the jumbled mess that is my brain moving.

This year all of my goals are tough ones for me. Two are probably part of your normal adulting life but are not a part of mine.

Ready?

1. I want to do a 2 week water fast to reset my metabolism, which I have ruined by not eating breakfast for the last 25 years. Yea. God, you guys. I just want to drink coffee, sweet tea and wine and be happy. My body doesn’t want that. I guess eating breakfast is going to have to be attached to this goal after my fast.

2. I want to try to try to follow Mel Robbin’s 5 productivity rules. I’ll do a post on those. She’s brill. Hardcore and brill. This one is going to hurt but I know it’s good.

3. I want to sign a book deal, write, edit and publish a new book that’s worth the reader’s time to read.

4. I want to take a business risk this year. Last year was super safe. I’m ready to risk (and fail if need be).

5. I am going to find 2 people to help me grow this year. A mentor and a counselor.

Side note: I am having the HARDEST TIME finding a woman that wants to help me by coaching me in my business. They run away as fast as they can when they hear my story. Do you guys know a good business coaches or masterminds?

What hard things are you ready to tackle this year? Tell me your toughest goal in the comments or tag me in your post about your 2018 goals.

I want to cheer you on. We can do hard things, peeps.

How I Grew My Business Into A 7-Figure Income

December 8, 2017 by Lindsay Teague Moreno Leave a Comment

Recently Kelsey Humphreys asked me to sit down for an interview about my business, and we talked about a lot of things, but mainly how I grew my personal income to 7-figures, in two years, using only social media.

I was so pumped to be asked and am really excited to share this interview with you guys!

Have you heard of Kelsey?

She’s this hilarious writer, speaker, and entertainer who interviews crazy successful people, like Tony Robbins and Seth Godin, online.

You can check out her work here:

Kelsey Humphreys

Here are just a few of the questions Kelsey asked me:

  1. What to do in your first two years of business that will skyrocket you to success? I walked in and looked at what everyone else was doing and decided to do the exact opposite. I don’t consider myself an MLM person and I didn’t want to run my business that way. I’ve never read an MLM book, or listened to MLM podcasts, or take advice from MLM people. I didn’t want to attract the people that worked for, so I did things like sharing my paycheck because most MLM people hide theirs. I unpacked the compensation plan and told everyone on my team how it worked. Really, I ran my business like a Fortune 500 company and figured out how I could train a stay-at-home Mom who had a strong desire to do more in life.
  2. How to motivate your team to perform at a high level? If you can spark some type of excitement in people, it spreads so fast. If you’re having your best day ever, it will be your team’s best day ever too. My group knows that I love what I do every single day and it’s a privilege to do it. I work for them and am always asking “what can I do for them?” Because I have this service attitude, I think people want to do for me, just like they do for themselves. That gets replicated down the line because I have the best group of givers on the planet. I really want all the success for them and so I gave every ounce of what I had to them.

There is so much more and you can watch the whole video here:

My Tell All Interview on The Pursuit!

I hope you’ll check it out and I hope you can glean something from it that helps you reach the success you desire.

5 Easy Ways You Can Market Your Small Business

November 28, 2017 by Lindsay Teague Moreno 2 Comments

Do you need a few fresh ideas on how to market your small business? There are literally hundreds of ways, but I narrowed it down to the five of easiest. These are all things you can do this week and they won’t cost you a lot of time or money.

When you feel like you’re out of ideas and you want to start fresh, I suggest just ripping the band-aid off and going for it. Don’t overthink the how and the why. Just do.

Five Easy Ways You Can Market Your Small Business Today:

  1. Use social media: This might seem like a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised how many people email me saying they afraid to use social media! If you own a business in 2017, social media is a must and I promise it’s not scary. I even wrote a whole book about it to help you: Getting Noticed. BOOM!
  2. Ask for referrals: This is another easy thing to do, but it can be scary at first. If you’re not in the habit already, you should be asking for referrals. Don’t be afraid to tell a great customer that you’d love to help their friends and family too. They already know what great service you’re giving them, so it’s natural for them to send people to you.
  3. Send notes or small gifts to customers: Don’t forget the people who have bought from you in the past. A note or small gift to let them know you’re thinking about them puts you on their radar again!
  4. Give a discount or run a promotion: You can reach both old and new customers this way. Everyone loves an incentive to buy. I would caution not to do this often because if something is always on sale, it doesn’t appear very valuable.
  5. Comment on social media: Interacting with others is a great way to get noticed online and it’s super easy to do. Just set aside a little time every day and get to liking and commenting!

Which do want to work on right now?

One Thing They Don’t Tell You About Motivation

September 11, 2017 by Lindsay Teague Moreno Leave a Comment

I recently got a couple of emails in a row saying things like, “I can’t find the motivation to do stuff! Can you please help me find my motivation?”

I was like, “uuuuuhhhhhhhmmmmmm.”

I don’t have an answer for that.

Because, honestly, I don’t think motivation is real.

I never FEEL motivated. In the last 4 years I haven’t felt like doing any other job besides mine. If given the choice between a Netflix bing with ice cream or working though? OF COURSE I’d rather sit around.

Motivation isn’t real.

I’d always rather choose the easy choice. And so would most people.

However, if I want to get what I want out of my life, I better get to work because I haven’t found a way to make watching Netflix pay me real dollars.

I think the problem with the questions above is that those people haven’t found that real reason to get their butts up and make something work for them. They quit because they get bored, or are scared, or have self-doubt, or care what others think or any other of the 19,386 reasons your brain will give before they make something theirs.

They quit and think, “well, it must not have been for me” or “I just wasn’t motivated enough by this person to keep going.”

Motivation isn’t real.

Just like you have had to choose to work every day, if you want to get stuff done, you will have to keep making that choice to find your success or to find what it is you’re working for. You have to exhaust all your efforts and then take a break to recharge. But then, guess what? You’ll have to choose again the next day or week.

Choosing is sometimes pretty easy and sometimes really freaking hard.

It’s never going to be the right time to make a business your thing. You’re never going to have all the stars align to make sure that you’re successful.

You’re going to have to choose over and over and over again to keep working toward what it is you want. So it better be a dang good reason to keep putting yourself out there.

What is yours? Name it. Write it down. Study it. Think of it every time you want to choose something easy vs. something that could actually make you better.

XOXO,
