These Are a Few of My Favorite Things…

April 24, 2013 by Lindsay Teague Moreno Leave a Comment

I haven’t done this kind of post in a while. I’m due! Let’s get to it shall we?

1. Chanel Chance Eau Tendre Perfume

Chanel Chance Perfume

Have you guys smelled this stuff? I smelled it on vacation when my sister in law let me use some of her perfume when I forgot to apply one evening and I am in LOVE with it. I ran out to get some as soon as I got back. It smells different on different body chemistries. I got 3 compliments on how good I smelled the day I bought it. I’m telling you, it’s good. There are 3 different scents in the Chance line. I got the pink. Awesome. The French lady that helped me at Nordies told me it’s their best selling perfume and that the ingredients aren’t commonly used in perfume right now.

2. Young Living Essential Oils

You didn’t think I was going to leave this off, did you? No, no, me either. I can’t go an hour without using one right now so they’re going on this list! The everyday oils is a great place to start if you haven’t ever tried EO’s before simply because of the HUGE variety of oils that come in the kit. I am seriously diggin Purification and Frankincense these days for headaches and acne. If you haven’t jumped on board yet, I just don’t know what you’re waiting for…they’re that good. PROMISE.

3. The Lemon Droppers

I’ve been writing a few blog posts over at The Lemon Droppers recently. You know how it’s hard to just find friends after you leave college? It’s just kinda tough to find that social network to plug into and be who you are. THIS is that for me.

I was getting so tired of begging Michael to tell me the details of his day just to have an adult to talk to. This group shined a light on who I want to be and what I’m capable of doing. Love that we have a place to talk oils and talk life and I love spreading the stories about what these oils are really capable of. Just so you know, you belong.

4. Pic-Tap-Go

Behold the power of Totally Rad Actions on your cell phone. Pic-Tap-Go. I can’t post an instagram without it. I’m not even kidding you. I try and I just can’t post it without running it through this app first. My favorite actions are High Fives, Sweet Tooth, Brightside and Lux.

Here’s a video.

PicTapGo! The photo app that likes you back. from Totally Rad! on Vimeo.

See? Cool. Go buy the app. Totally worth a couple of bucks. Plus, the logo? Adorable. Love it.

5. Lush Bath Products

So, I made the huge mistake of happening upon a Lush store on my girls night out with my friends Liz and Stacy a couple of weeks ago. It’s horrifyingly expensive in there but you get what you pay for (100% believe that in pretty much any facet of life) and you’re gonna get a good product for your hard earned money. Also the people are WAY over-the-top excited and enthusiastic about the way you bathe yourself (think high school drama club enthusiastic), but it’s kinda nice considering the state of customer service at most stores these days.

lushilicious
I tried the Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub. LOVE. Smells like heaven and is great for creating soft skin.

I also tried the Floating Island Bath Melt. TDF, y’all. Soooooo soft. You gotta try it.

6. Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Nut Bar (Peanut)

So, my mother-in-law is the woman that is prepared for any situation. When we met in California for vacation last month, she came prepared to feed and take care of an army. In her bag (read: 8 bags) of tricks, she had some of these Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Nut Bars. God love her for bringing these and keeping my kids happy at Disney Land. Love that woman.

Sweet & Salty Nut Bars
Now, I’m not a peanut butter girl and I am SURE not a nuts fan, but I LOVE these things. It tastes similar to a Scotcharoo a little bit but only better for you and no chocolate. I can’t explain it. They’re just awesome. I bought 2 boxes at Costco last week lest they stop carrying them between now and refill day.

7. Starbucks Customizable Cold Cup with Straw

Stop it right now. I love this thing. I got the double-extra-grande-venti sized cup (or 24 ounces for those of you that aren’t down with the ‘bux lingo) for my water and I use it every day. The straw won’t come out the top when my kids pull on it. It doesn’t condensate down the sides because it’s double lined.

Starbucks Tumbler

oh Starbucks, i love your clean marketing and the fact that you’re on every corner in this city I now live in.

8. Soma Vanishing Edge Panties (…nope, can’t even write that word without feeling gross) Underwear

Soma. Why did I not shop here before this year? WHY? Is it strange that I’m telling you what kind of underwear I wear? Probably, but I don’t even care. They’re amazing.

Soma-Vanishing-Edge-Panties-e1309221930790
They don’t ride (seriously, they don’t) and they don’t show lines (seriously, they don’t).

Soma_Vanishing_Edge_Panties

Yep. Go buy some. They’re like buy 3, get 2 free every day. The bikini style is my fave with the hipsters close behind (no pun intended).

9. Project Life Honey Edition

Shut your mouth, how cute is this kit?

Lindsay Teague Moreno Project Life
I die of cuteness. I think this is the one I’m most excited about for this year’s releases!!! Run over to AC Digitals and get ya some of this kit.

So that’s all I’ve got. Any of you tried any of these things? Anybody have anything that they can’t stop talking about and using lately? Love to hear it.

Project Life Week 9

April 7, 2013 by Lindsay Teague Moreno 1 Comment

This was a totaly normal week except that we got a date night!!! I love date night!!! Also, I’m totally digging the fact that my kids adore old school cartoons. Anything made early nineties or earlier and the Moreno girls are digging it.

WEEK NINE

Week nine brought some sun so I took the girls out for a little photo shoot in their cutie clothes. Another card with our TV shows because I thought it was pretty funny that all of us were into some old-school shows lately. The girls love Tom & Jerry and M & I still into The West Wing.

Project Life Week 8

April 6, 2013 by Lindsay Teague Moreno Leave a Comment

Continuing our catchup on on the Project Life front.

WEEK EIGHT

Back to my regular bright style here. This was a busy week but still very typical. I included a card about what we have been watching. The girls were into Wreck-It Ralph and M & I were watching The West Wing.

Project Life: Time for Print

March 20, 2013 by Lindsay Teague Moreno Leave a Comment

Y’all, I’m finally getting around to printing my 2012 Project Life book. I am sooooo excited. Before I share some of the pages I finished recently for it, I want to answer some of the questions that I’ve been getting a lot recently:

1. WHERE ARE YOU PRINTING YOUR BOOK?

I’m printing at the pro lab I use for my photography clients. Although it’s expensive (yea, it’s really expensive), the pages will be on heavy board and high quality so the book should last through kids and grandkids alike! The bad part of this is that I can only print 30 spreads in one book because of the page thickness (think child’s board book) so I have to print in 2 editions per year. I think it’s worth it for the thick board book pages and high quality images though. I just haven’t liked the color quality at many other book places (though blurb does a great job for a high-quality paper option).

2. HOW MANY PAGES WAS YOUR ALBUM?

A lot, though not as many as it would have been if I had been doing the 1-page-a-week format like I’m doing this week. 2012 came out to 40 2-page spreads, so 80 pages all together). I’m printing the book in 2 editions to fit all of the spreads. I’m also printing a separate book to house my 2012 Week in the Life spreads and my 31 Things spreads (which were conveniently 30 total spreads between both projects, how about that?).

Alright, here are a few of the pages that I completed for the 2012 book and hadn’t posted here:

Let’s start with the Color Run that my friend Becky and I did.

Then we moved to Seattle and I wanted to include this important story in the book so I copied my blog post about how we were sent to this lovely city to live:

Project Life 2013: Week 5

February 11, 2013 by Lindsay Teague Moreno Leave a Comment

Welcome to Week 5 of Project Life. Seems crazy that we’re this far into the year. Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited about spring and summer coming right around the corner!!

projectlife2013

This week, I was out of town for the weekend for my grandma’s funeral. Even though it’s sad, I added it to the book. Additionally, I made Michael take the Archetype ME quiz and recorded both of our results. This is proof positive that he’s a better persona than I am and that he’s probably the better stay-at-home parent, what with his caregiving skills and my lack thereof! ha. Have you seen these results going around your social media feed? You can add it to your next page by taking the quiz HERE

Archetype Quiz

Lindsay:
1. Creative (Creator | Performer | Artist | Storyteller)
2. Intellectual (Scholar | Professional | Sage | Thinker)
3. Rebel (Maverick | Feminist | Seductress | Femme Fatale)

Michael:
1. Caregiver (Mentor | Teacher | Father | Coach | Rescuer | Hero)
2. Intellectual (Scholar | Professional | Sage | Thinker)
3. Spiritual (Mystic | Healer | Seeker | Religious)

See? He’s a better person! Not a mention of my most important job as a mom in my results. Whoops. Lucky me, I guess.

Here’s the full 2-page spread from week 5:

Project Life 2013 Week 6

February 9, 2013 by Lindsay Teague Moreno Leave a Comment

What’s up, week 6 of 2013! It was good to live you.

This week I was very photo heavy (20 photos), so I used a lot of mini templates (thankyouverymuch, Cathy Zielske). I don’t think it looks overly cluttered, though, which is why these templates are a must-have for my Project Life spreads.

Let’s get to it, shall we?

Everything is “do it self, DO IT SELF!” She’s so independent and she does NOT want your help in life…unless you have cookies, then she wants your help in getting her hands on some of that.
